SAIRS

The regulations surrounding commercial and recreational drone operations are complex.  As drones share airspace with manned aircraft, there is a need to safely integrate drone operations into Canadian airspace.

Transport Canada regulates drone operations in Canadian airspace.  In 2019 a section on remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) was embedded the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS).   As a general guideline,  agricultural operations on the Canadian prairies require a certified RPAS pilot with either a basic or advanced designation.

As SAIRS primary pilot, Kevin holds an advanced pilot's certificate issued by Transport Canada.  Additionally, SAIRS carries liability insurance on all RPAS operations.
